The obverse side of the banknote features Sultan Hassan al-Bolkiah I on the right side and a purple leaf forest yam on the left side. The Latin script on the obverse reads "NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM" which translates to "BRUNEI." It also includes the statement "WANG KERTAS INI SAH DIPERLAKUKAN DENGAN NILAI" which translates to "THIS BANKNOTE IS LEGAL TENDER." The denomination "SEPULUH RINGGIT" meaning "TEN DOLLARS" is displayed, along with the image of the purple leafed forest yam. Additionally, the word "SULTAN" is included.
On the reverse side, a depiction of the rainforest canopy is featured. The lettering on the reverse is in Latin script, with the phrase "KANOPI HUTAN TROPIKA" meaning "RAINFOREST CANOPY" in English. The denomination "TEN DOLLARS" is also included.
