Flaxseed Oil is a rich source of the Omega-3 fatty acid, Alpha-Linoleic Acid (ALA). Flaxseed Oil has been shown to increase comfort when used to manage Dry Eye Syndrome. Flaxseed Oil works throughout the body to protect cell membranes. Flaxseed Oil reduces inflammation. It also improves tear gland secretion by increasing its fluidity. It has also been shown to improve the quality of tear secretions in patients with Dry Eye Syndrome. By enhancing the oil layer of the tear film, evaporative loss will decrease.

Borago officinalis (Borage) Oil is a rich source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA). GLA has been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory and specifically has been shown to reduce inflammation on the surface of the eye. The time required for a dry spot to appear on the eye surface after blinking is referred to as the tear film break-up time. GLA has been shown to significantly improve this measure.
